Culture is a very crucial thing which everybody should put into consideration when communicating across different cultures. What is right, one culture may be wrong in another culture? A symbol that portrays a particular aspect in one culture may represent a very different thing in another culture. At the end of the first lesson, the learner should be able to understand different cultures and their importance. The learner should also be able to understand the cross-cultural checklist, whereby they must know different symbols, rights, and wrongs in their own cultures and other cultures. The learner should also be able to understand what others need to know about them when communicating across different cultures. There are many aspects that we may reveal about ourselves when interacting with people from different cultures. The learner should be able to understand different stereotypes that are portrayed by people from different cultures. People from certain cultures have some prejudices about people from other cultures that make them have the wrong impression when interacting with them.
At the end of the second lesson of this course, the learner should be able to understand the values that are vital at work across different cultures. They should also be able to understand different body language symbols and their meanings across different cultures. The learner should be able to recognize and manage culture shock when interacting with people from different cultures. In the course of their lifetime, learners can have an opportunity to travel and interact with people from different cultures. The learner should also be able to understand the red flags that they may encounter when interacting with people from different cultures.
Lastly, the learner should be able to communicate across different cultures by merely using their RADAR; this will help them to understand the effectiveness of conversing across different cultures. Knowing how to use your RADAR when communicating across different cultures is a very vital thing.
